If you haven't tried chocolate mousse made with the magic ingredient - avocado, then you are missing out! In addition to being one of your five a day, the avocado makes this mousse so creamy and silky and decadent, plus you won't even taste it, as my avocado hating three year old will testify!
Vegan, refined sugar free and filled with only natural ingredients!
This recipe is so quick and simple but looks and tastes so impressive!
1/2 cup of Medjool dates
2 ripe bananas
1/2 cup of cacao powder
1 tbsp almond butter
1/4 cup oat mill (or other dairy free milk alternative)
Maple syrup to taste (optional)
If your dates aren't soft, soak them in boiling water for 5 - 10 minutes. Add all ingredients, except milk, to food processor and blend until smooth. Add milk slowly until you get a creamy consistency. This mousse is very rich and dark, if you would like it a little sweeter add maple syrup depending on your taste.
I love adding fresh raspberries and cocao nibs but it is equally delicious on its own. If you have the will power not to eat it straight away, keep in the fridge until you're ready to serve it.
